Loreal Paris Rouge Magique lipstick Review & Swatch (Secret Date)

Hey guys!! I’m here today with Loreal’s new launch, the Rouge Magique lipsticks. Looks like the matte madness is not dying down anytime soon.. Every company is coming up with their version of matte lip products. Matte these days comes in so many different finishes which is amazing. Loreal had already launched their hydrating mattes, the moist matte range which I had reviewed here , likewise this range also falls under the comfortable mattes range. Let’s jump straight into the review..

A new generation of matte lipsticks with intense colour pigments and comfortable wear. It boasts of hydrating honey, intense matte pigments, jojoba and canina oil.

Packaging:

The packaging is very identical to Loreal’s Color Riche range (if you remember them). I really love the packaging Loreal comes up with these days, I loved their moist matte range packaging too. This comes in a matte black casing with hot pink accents (I love it.. but.. I just felt the colour of pink could have been better! It kind of looks like the cheap metallic pink.. if you know what I mean). Very similar to the colour Riche which came in champagne gold, this range comes in a matte black casing with a metallic pink cap. Anyways it looks good for it’s price. No complaints here.

Shade:

The name of the shade is Secret Date. It is a pink with purple/mauve undertones. This colour will look lovely on medium to deeper complexions. This shade tends to look different on different skintones. On lighter complexions, this comes out as a pink and on deeper complexions it looks like a mauvey pink, leaning more towards mauve.

Formula & Pigmentation:

Omg! I’m in love with the formula.. it is such a hydrating formula which dries down to a satiny matte finish. It applies creamy, does not tug lips like mattes do. In about a few seconds it sets to a matte finish which is so comfortable and hydrating. The pigmentation is really good. One swipe gives you opaque colour. It easily covers pigmentation of lips. It feels so comfortable on the lips and the moisture remains intact throughout, which I love since I have dry lips. Since this has a hydrating formula, it’s is not transfer-proof (which is always expected out of a moisturising formulation). But if you expect a budge proof formula, this is not for you. It cannot survive a meal. You can manage to have a drink or two without it budging. Overall, you can get about 4 hours which is synonymous with any hydrating lipstick. These retail for 650 INR, I really love the formula and the pricing is great too. This is such a boon for those with dry lips who stayed away from matte formulas, you will definitely love this!! I would love to try more shades from this range.. I’m eyeing Mont Blanc and Divine Mocha 😉 Let me know your favourites from this range.
