Hey guys!! This post is going to be a beginner’s guide to “Makeup”. What is Makeup?? Being in a conservative circle, makeup is seen as something only for the celebrities, and clearly a taboo. But is it really one as they say..? Definitely not! Makeup is something which is used to enhance your features or your appearance which inturn gives you a boost of self confidence. So now what is wrong in doing makeup?! Feeling good about ourselves is not wrong at all! We are not celebrities to be looking picture perfect all the time. And we need not have a porcelain face everytime. But something to look a little better would never hurt.
Please read on to know more on how to start with makeup without looking too madeup. Let me start by giving you some examples of how makeup can make a difference in the way you look and how it enhances your look instantly.
All you need to achieve this is a brow product to fill in brows, Liner/Kajal for the eyes and little mascara, BB cream/ foundation to even out the skin and a gloss or a nude lipstick. Look at the freshness it gives to the face and how her features look enhanced. So all you will need to look presentable is just 5 products. Some more before & after pictures to convince you guys!!
Are these pictures convincing enough.. to make you take a step towards looking good (or rather feeling good! 😉). Great! Let’s get started, I will list the products now to help you achieve a fresh look.
1. Kajal / Eyeliner:
If you have smaller eyes, start with just a kajal on your lower lashline line as lining your upper lid will make your eyes look closed. You can line only the outer half of the lower lash line or you can extend it till your tear duct area. If you have bigger eyes you can also line your lids, for more definition. Eyeliners come in different variants – you get felt tip liner, sketch pen liners, liners with a brush and you get gel liners too (Recommendations given below in each variant). And you get them both in matte and glossy finishes. You can also skip lining the lower lashline and line only your lids too (whichever you like to see on you! 😊
Mascara is a great product to enhance your eyes. It will make your eyes look awake and open. Coat your lashes with a generous amount of mascara to make your lashes more voluminous. There are a variety of mascaras in the market. Choose one according to you lashes, if you have sparse lashes you can get a volumising mascara. This will give you the effect of dense lashes.
3. BB/CC cream or Tinted moisturiser
If you want a very natural look, You can choose a BB cream or a tinted moisturiser to even out your skin. This will give you a very fresh appearance. Make sure you choose your exact shade match or else it will give you a white cast or an ashy looking face. Dot the cream all over your face and blend it out evenly with your fingers. You can instantly feel that you look fresh as it will even out your skin and will give you a sheer coverage.
4. Lipstick/Lip-gloss :
There are a variety of lipstick shades in the market with so many different finishes. Choose one colour that you like and which you think suits you well. It is always good to start with a subtle shade, choose a dusty rose colour to start with, any subtle pink would work. If you are not a lipstick person, you can choose a Lipgloss with a little bit of colour in it. This will instantly brighten up your face.
5.Compact powder :
There are a lot of compact powders available in the market at different price ranges. Choose a colour that closely matches your complexion. Do not go for lighter powders as it will make you look too madeup. You can dab on some compact powder for a fresh looking face. You can also use it throughout the day for touch ups whenever your face gets oily.
Ideally these are “the” products to achieve a fresh look. These are the only products you will need for an everyday office look.
For special occasions if you want to look more flawless and cover up all scars and pigmentation, you can invest in a foundation.
There are a lot of foundations available in the market for every skin type with different finishes such as matte or dewy finish. Usually the matte ones are for the oily skins and dewy finish is for dry skin. You can dot the foundation all over your face and neck and blend it in with a brush or a makeup sponge. And don’t forget the ears 😋. All you need is a brush to apply your foundation as using your hands to blend in the foundation will not give you the desired finish.
And if your using makeup , please make sure you remove it off the end of the day before you hit bed with a makeup remover such as the Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Remover. You can always choose to use or skip the products based on the time you have and keep it relevant to the place you are going to. Hope this post helped you in choosing the right products to start your makeup journey! Happy Shopping !! 😉
